Status of projects

Fire of the Dragon: In 2022, an independent film company hired me to write a 30-minute script for a movie that had already been shot. Once I wrote it, they shot and added the scenes to the movie.

Fire of the Dragon is an international film filmed in Colombia and the United States. It is a story about one man's fight against human trafficking, as we follow David's journey as he learns about the horrors of human trafficking and how human trafficking affected his own life. David must face his past, present, and future while searching for answers to bring him clarity, closure, and justice to close this chapter of his life finally. (For the record, I didn’t name the character. I promise)

Fire of the Dragon is due to premiere in July 2025. I have been invited to the premier in Bogota, Colombia.

Older published works: Many of my past works are no longer available due to websites being discontinued or the publishers going out of business. Of course, I have the rights to the previously published work. However, the thumb drives with the documents and all the moving my wife and I have done this decade has gone missing. I am still searching for them. If I find them, I will add them to the Writings of David Alan Lucas section.

My current story: I am shaking my head. After all the plotting I did for the new story, the title is still to be determined, and the story decided to go in a whole different direction. Just as I am tugged along when our Great Dane decides to chase a squirrel, I am being tugged along on this new direction. I will share more about it in next month’s newsletter.
